Appeals Court Issues Major Decision in Case of Nuns Vs Obama

The Little Sisters of the Poor is an order of nuns whose mission in life is to care for the elderly poor in America.  But, they have been under assault by the Obama Administration ever since Obamacare and its contraception mandates were put in place.
They have been in court, taking precious resources away from those in need, to defend their faith against the atheist, socialist predators in Obama’s cadre of tyrants.
In the latest round, they have been granted a reprieve from knuckling under the iron boot of the federal government.

MRC TV reports:
In July, a three-judge panel of the Tenth Circuit Court ruled that an order of nuns must comply with Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate. But, on Friday, the Little Sisters of the Poor received a reprieve from choosing between observing their faith and continuing their mission as a panel of the full Tenth Circuit Court issued an order safeguarding their nuns’ order and other ministries from being forced to authorize coverage for birth control (at least until the Supreme Court takes up and rules on their case).
The Little Sisters is an order of nuns who devote their lives to helping seniors who don’t have the money to help themselves. Presently, they run 30 homes in the United States where the elderly and dying are treated and cared for with love and dignity (see video below)
Under Obamacare, religious-affiliated organizations such as the Little Sisters, do not have to provide contraception coverage to their employees, but they do need to sign a form affirming their objection, which then forces the insurer or an outside health plan administrator to provide separate birth control coverage. The order of nuns believes that, by signing that form, they are authoring birth control, a position agreed to by many other religious organizations
Unbelievably, the July ruling against the Little Sisters was not based on law – it was based on faith. The judges said that the nuns would not substantially violate any tenets of their faith by signing the form. Apparently, along with being experts on jurisprudence, the court considered themselves experts on Catholic theology.
But the full court has granted relief until the Supreme Court takes up the case as it is expected to do during the next session.
These kind of horrible oppressive rulings are what we get when Democrats and RINOs get to appoint liberal activist judges to the federal courts.  Their ruling are not based on the Constitution or even on past case law.  They rule according to their ideologies and perceived social trends.
This brief powerful video about the ministry of the Little Sisters of the Poor is a must-see.  Please share it will all you know.
It reveals who the Obama Administration really is – a bunch of tyrannical socialist bullies who hate people of the Christian faith.

The battle for faith in America is raging on multiple fronts – abortion, “same-sex” marriage, religious charities, schools, and other direct assaults on the 1st Amendment.

MRC TV continues the story:
Mark Rienzi, Senior Counsel of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which represents the Little Sisters of the Poor, told he’s delighted by the decision.
“The federal government doesn’t need the Little Sisters or any other ministry to help it distribute abortion-inducing drugs and other contraceptives,” Mark Rienzi, senior counsel of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which represents the Little Sisters, said in a statement. “Yet it not only insists on forcing them to participate in the delivery, it argues that their beliefs against participating are wrong and that government officials and judges can tell the Little Sisters what Catholic theology really requires. That’s wrong, and it’s dangerous — especially when those same government officials have disrespectfully compared the Sisters’ beliefs to ‘fighting an invisible dragon’ that can be vanquished with the ‘stroke of the [Sisters’] own pen.’
It’s ironic that progressive groups, which scream bloody murder every time there is a Christmas tree on publicly-owned property because of their misinterpretation of the First Amendment, were totally silent when an actual violation of the amendment arose: the tenth circuit court issuing a ruling based on their interpretation of theology, rather than the law.
These “God-hating” liberal socialists must be stopped before they completely destroy America.

Our history and our heritage and our legacy depend on us today – continuing to fight for the truth and soundly rejecting the nonsensical “political correctness” of liberalism and its utter fascism.
Let’s start first by protecting a bunch of poor nuns who are caring for those in society that Obama’s “death panels” would prefer to destroy.

Plymouth church organist 'I can see face of Jesus in my cocktail cabinet' (10 Pics)

People find Jesus in all sorts of ways – but the sentiment took on a different meaning for a church organist after he spotted the Holy Spirit staring back at him on his cocktail cabinet.

Robert Burgess-Moon, 35, bought the vintage item after seeing it in the classified adverts section of a newspaper.
He got the cabinet home and polished it up before filling it with old decanters and glasses.

But it was not until Mr Burgess-Moon felt someone looking at him while he was watching television that he noticed Jesus' face in the wood grains.

Mr Burgess-Moon, from Plymouth, Devon, said: 'We were looking for something vintage for our lounge so we could fill it with old decanters and glasses.

'We went to see it, picked it up and brought it home. When we polished it up it came up really nice, we didn't see anything then.

'Later, I thought "There's a face looking at me through the cabinet". It looked like the face of Jesus, the image everybody has of him.
'We were quite shocked really, it was just not something you expect, it's like a Holy Spirit cabinet now.'

Mr Burgess-Moon is a regular churchgoer and has played the organ at a number of churches in his local area.
He said that while his partner, Martin, had not initially been able to see Jesus' face, he too was now convinced.
Mr Burgess-Moon added: 'He couldn't see it to begin with, but when I pointed it out to him it stands out.'

Japanese pensioner who survived the Nagasaki bomb shows off the remains of his ribs and the horrific wounds on his back 70 years on from the blast that killed more than 70,000

  • On August 9, 1945, America dropped its second atomic bomb in three days
  • Sumitery Taniguchi, 86, was just 16 at the time of the devastating blast
  • He was thrown from his bicycle and his teenage body was nearly torn apart
  • Skin hanging from his back, shoulder and arm, he wandered for three days
  • Now 70 years on, he reveals his scars in his struggle against nuclear arms

  • The frail 86-year-old body of Sumitery Taniguchi is a web of scars, that have criss-crossed his skin for 70 years.
The elderly man was one of the many tens of thousands of victims of the atomic blast that destroyed the Japanese port city of Nagasaki, on August 9 1945.

He is still unable to fully straighten his left arm, while his wife rubs moisturising cream onto his scars every morning to reduce the irritation.

Three of his ribs half rotted away following the attack and still press against his lungs, leaving unnatural dents and swellings in his scrawny chest.

Constant pain: Sumitery Taniguchi's wife still rubs moisturiser into his scars every morning to relieve the irritation, while his three rotten ribs press on his lungs

Web of scars: He was just 16 when the five-tonne plutonium bomb, known as the 'Fat Man', detonated 500m above the thriving Japanese port city

Survivor: Mr Taniguchi, 86, was one of the many tens of thousands of victims killed or severely injured by the atomic blast over Nagasaki, on August 9 1945

He has revealed his scars as part of his work with the Nagasaki survivors' group that he leads, in the struggle against nuclear proliferation.

He and his group hope that no one will ever again suffer the pain of a nuclear blast.
Mr Taniguchi was just 16 when the five-tonne plutonium bomb, known as the ‘Fat Man’, exploded 500 metres above his home city of Nagasaki, on the western side on the Japanese island of Kyushu.
The city was one of Japan’s most important ports, providing vital access to and from Shanghai.

Scarred: Mr Taniguchi has revealed what remains of his horrific injuries as part of his work with the Nagasaki survivors' group that he leads, in the struggle against nuclear proliferation

Devastated: Mr Taniguchi's back was torn apart in the blast, which threw him from his bicycle as he worked as a letter carrier. He was just over a mile from the epicentre of the bomb

It was two minutes past noon when the bomb detonated, the second such atomic blast unleashed on Japan in just three days.
Just 72 hours earlier, the first nuclear weapon ever used for warfare fell on Hiroshima. The two attacks killed up to 226,000 people between them.
On the job as a letter carrier at the time, the powerful blast threw the teenage Mr Taniguchi from his bicycle.
He was just over a mile from the epicentre of the blast that killed more than 70,000 people.
Dazed in the wake of the blast, he wandered aimlessly for three days, completely unaware of the severity of his injuries.
He could feel something like a ragged cloth hanging from his back, shoulder and arm, which he later realised was his own skin.

Permanent: The 86-year-old is still unable to straighten his arm, which grew  in the 21 months that he lay unable to move while his wounds healed, and blocked the joint

Catastrophe: The blast over the vital Japanese port city of Nagasaki killed at least 70,000 people, and wounded many thousands more

On the brink: In the months following his recovery, Mr Taniguchi lay drifting in and out of consciousness. He could hear the nurses passing each other in the hallway, asking each other if the boy in the bed was still breathing

After being rescued, he spent the next 21 months lying on his stomach, receiving treatment for his burned back, decomposing flesh and exposed bones.
Drifting in and out of consciousness, he could hear nurses walking in the hallway outside his room, asking one another if the boy inside was still breathing.
He lay immobile for so long that his teenage arm bones grew and blocked the joint, disabling his arm for the rest of his life.
In a final insult, more than three million leaflets were dropped over the country by American aeroplanes in the hours following the second attack.

Struggle: Mr Taniguchi  and his group are determined that no one will again suffer the pain of an atomic blast, while  the mushroom cloud over Nagasaki in the wake of the blast

Onslaught: The other Japanese city of Hiroshima had been struck by a similar, but more devastating, blast just three days before

Final insult: Just hours after the brutal attack, American aeroplanes dropped leaflets over the country, warning that unless Japan ended the war, atomic weapons would be used 'again and again'
The leaflets warned the Japanese people that more atomic weapons would be used ‘again and again’ to destroy the country, unless they ended the war.
    Six days later, Japan surrendered.
‘I want this to be the end,’ said Mr Taniguchi, weak-voiced and struggling for breath, as he slipped his shirt back over his scars.
