Investigators are looking into a Miami-based celebrity shark hunter after a video was posted on his social media showing a seabird being abused.
Posted on Mark the Shark's Monster Fishing Charter page on Monday, the video shows someone grabbing the seabird by its neck and violently shaking it.
'MERRY XMAS,' the video that has been viewed just under 3,500 says. 'TODAY IS YOUR LUCKY DAY ! PETA THIS !'
The brief clip shows a gloved hand shaking the fragile bird and asking 'what should I do with you?'
The bird struggles as it attempts to get free, even appearing to bite the gloved hand at one point.
Eventually the man lets the bird go and it immediately flies off to freedom.
The alarming video and incident is being investigated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commision.
'We do not have any additional information to share at this time,' FWC spokesperson Melody Kilborn explained to WTSP.
Shark gained notoriety last year after a video went viral that he posted showing some hunters dragging a shark.
The hunter - who changed his name from Mark Quartiano - claimed to have received the video from Michael Wenzel and Robert Lee Benac.
Both were charged with two felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
'These three guys are doing something inhumane … (I've) never seen anything so barbaric,' Shark said at the time.
