New York Ended Its Religious Exemption For Vaccines After The Worst Measles Outbreaks In Decades

New York will no longer allow parents to refuse vaccinations for their children because of religious reasons after the state became the center of the worst measles outbreak in decades.
The state legislature approved a bill Thursday that will require all children attending school or daycare to receive vaccinations, unless they could not be safely vaccinated because of a medical issue. Gov. Andrew Cuomo immediately signed it into law.
“I understand freedom of religion. We all do. We respect it. I’ve heard the anti-vaxxers’ theory, but I believe both are overwhelmed by the public health risk,” Cuomo told reporters Wednesday.
The state has recorded 854 cases of measles since September in outbreaks centered in Orthodox Jewish communities in New York City and Rockland County. Health officials in both areas have called the outbreaks a crisis that risks the safety of the public — particularly infants, pregnant women, elderly people, and those with compromised immune systems, such as patients with cancer.
The outbreaks have been fueled by misinformation, including false claims that vaccines cause autism or that vaccination is contrary to Jewish law. In response, the Orthodox Union and Rabbinical Council of America stressed Judaism’s value on preserving human life, and urged parents to vaccinate their children following the recommendations of their pediatricians.
“There are halachic obligations to care for one’s own health as well as to take measures to prevent harm and illness to others, and Jewish law defers to the consensus of medical experts in determining and prescribing appropriate medical responses to illness and prevention,” its statement said.
The vast majority of Jewish parents do vaccinate their children, and proponents of ending the religious exemption said it was being misused by a strident anti-vaccine minority.
“Here in New York, we protect vulnerable kids and our community — and we reject misinformation and junk science,” state Sen. Brad Hoylman, a sponsor of the bill, saidafter it passed.
Thursday’s votes drew a raucous crowd of anti-vaccine protesters, who at times shouted down lawmakers.
Most states in the US allow parents to skip vaccinating their kids because of their religion or personal beliefs. But recent outbreaks of preventable diseases are testing those laws, and a number of states are considering changes.
In 2016, after a high-profile measles outbreak at Disneyland, California ended its religious exemption. Public health officials have considered the move a success; vaccination rates went up.

  1. So what did this "worst measles outbreak in decades" consist of?

  2. "vaccination rates went up."

Yes so did Autism, Alzheimer's, Immunosupression, ADHD, ADD and Vaccination Damage.

"In 1993 the deaths of 93,000 elderly Americans vaccinated with a “hot lot” flu vaccine that caused the life expectancy of Americans to drop for the first time in eight decades was covered up by health authorities and the news media. If you can hide 93,000 vaccine-related deaths, what else is the vaccine industry hiding?" Note IMO this was NO HOT BATCH it was a TEST, only a TEST, a very successful test.

"No study of health outcomes of vaccinated people versus unvaccinated has ever been conducted in the U.S. by CDC or any other agency in the 50 years or more of an accelerating schedule of vaccinations (now over 50 doses of 14 vaccines given before kindergarten, 26 doses in the first year)." Study: Vaccinated Children Have 2 to 5 Times More Diseases and Disorders Than Unvaccinated Children Note How can this be? They KNOW, they KNOW

"'ASIA' - autoimmune/inflammatory syndrome induced by adjuvants.' "Vaccination" damaging immunity Folks how much more evidence do you need? Get the hell out of the "vaccination" house of Horrors if you still reside there. ALL "vaccines" contain TONS of "adjuvants; adjuvants are an essential component of "vaccines". What FOOLS they think we are. To See The Main "Vaccination" Disease Mechanism Please Go Here

  3. The genotype of the virus during the outbreak was very often the same genotype as the virus in the vaccine (not the wild virus), which is why is spread so widely. The more they injected people, and they cast off viral particles, the more the virus spread, Measles is not that serious a problem for most people. It has been part of the 'training' of the immune system. This is NOT rocket science.

  4. well, this will be sure to make the "outbreak" worse or continue. its been adnmitted by the govt that the "outbreak" is caused by the vaccines. those who are vaccinated are getting measles. they fail to mention that.

  5. An episode of The Donna Reed Show sitcom of the late 1950s features the boys in the neighborhood getting the measles. Everybody, including Donna's physican husband laughs as the characters go through what all kids did: get the measles, get over the measles, enjoy lifetime immunity from the measles. How on Earth did it get to vaccines for this childhood disease that was important for kids to contract so that they could develop immunity in adulthood? This is disaster capitalism at its worst. A few people contract the disease and we now must mandate a vaccine, when that vaccine is the probable cause for the outbreak of the disease. Sheer lunacy.
