A sobering history of the Notre Dame cathedral (19 photos)

  1. Notre Dame de Paris, which means “Our Lady of France” in French...

    Really?

  2. I'm fairly sure that the image of the stained glass window is from Chartres Cathedral not from Notre Dame in Paris.
    Can anyone else confirm?

    1. You're right.

Pictures 14 and 15 show the equivalent at Notre Dame from the outside. Much more intricate, and more spectacular from the inside.

The fire fighters saved it intact, which is a great achievement given that it is just out of shot in picture 6.
